Ms. Newhope - Middle School Reading Teacher
Crystal Newhope moved to Bisbee, Arizona from Phoenix, Arizona last year to join the Omega Alpha Academy family here in Douglas. She studied at the University of Metaphysical Sciences and received her Master’s Degree in Metaphysics and alternative counseling. She is passionate about education and believes that anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.
Ms. Newhope knows the difficulties one can struggle with while learning. She, herself, suffered a major brain trauma in her early 40’s which resulted in her losing a good portion of her memory along with some of her cognitive functions; specifically reading, writing and speech. The doctors had believed she would be unable to recover from the trauma; but with support from her son and a firm belief in herself, she worked her way to recovery. Through art, creative writing and studying for her degrees she was able to regain a major portion of her cognitive functions. There are few sign left of her trauma and what few remain she uses as a reminder of how strong and capable she is.
